"S" is for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

So what can we say about Disney? Holds a special place in some of our hearts, for the villains or heroes and or the beautiful look. I hope to share a little bit of everything in the days coming, maybe things you forgot about, maybe not and being part of the Co-hosting for A to Z Challenge we all remember Tina... a dear friend and sweet lady.

Please stop back throughout the challenge, can I encourage you to start following me on Google + and be a member. I promise to give you posts here on why we are all a little "Hollywood Nuts"! -Jeremy [Retro]

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (also known as Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens) is an upcoming American epic space opera film directed by J. J. Abrams. The seventh installment in the Star Wars film series (excluding spin-offs), it stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow, with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker reprising roles from previous films. The story is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983).

The Force Awakens will be the first film in the planned third Star Wars trilogy announced after The Walt Disney Company's acquisition of Lucasfilm in October 2012. It is produced by Abrams, his long-time collaborator Bryan Burk, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Abrams directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan, co-writer of the original trilogy films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Abrams and Kasdan rewrote an initial script by Michael Arndt, who also wrote the story treatment. John Williams returns to compose the score, and Star Wars creator George Lucas serves as creative consultant.

  1. Gotta wonder if they should just leave it alone!

  2. Star Wars was great, Thought someone would remember it.
    Good post Jeremy,

  3. No Harrison Ford in the line up? Odd thing is, in the trailer which does show Harrison Ford reprising Han Solo, the guy actually looks younger than he does in real life. Damn fine make-up artists they have :)

  4. Have seen only one of the films. Hope to catch up with the rest soon. :)

  5. With JJ Abrams at the helm and Lucas no where in sight, I have high hopes for this one.

  6. I'm so praying they don't do anything stupid like midichlorines of whatever the hell they tried to explain the force with. I have to agree with Mark K - Harrison Ford does look spectacular in the trailer.

  7. I'm cautiously optimistic, but really trying not to let the hype-machine get my hopes up. The new trailer had some great images, and it was fun to see Han and Chewie together again, but Ford is looking every bit of his age. I'm okay with an older, grizzled Luke Skywalker, but no amount of CGI magic is ever going to get Leia back into a slave bikini. :)

  8. Very interesting. I feel I should watch the first 6 if I plan on seeing it. I've seen Episode IV, sort of remember seeing the end of Episode VI, and saw bits and pieces of Episode III.

  9. I can't wait to see this! I hope it lives up to the hype.

  10. This movie is going to be exciting with the Abrams defector as director.

  11. I'm so nervous about this one. I hope Force Awakens winds up not disappointing.

Good luck with the A to Z Challenge!

  12. I love Star Wars. I WILL love the new one. It's especially nice that old actors will be in it. We just need not judge it by other SW movies.

  13. People are usually either Star Wars or Star Trek (I'm more Doctor Who), but of the two, I'd pick Star Wars (although I'm not a big fan), but I have to admit, watching the new trailer made me a bit giddy and I spent last weekend rewatching all six movies in a row. I was kind of surprised how I didn't remember a lot of it, but I really enjoyed it!

  14. I'd love for it to be even half as exciting as Star Wars. Fingers crossed.

  15. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will be good. Hopefully no Jar Jar Binks

  17. I am not really sure about this. My husband is, but I just don't know.

  18. wow, it makes me feel so old. I was 6 months old when the first movie came out. i think my mom has had every incarnation of vhs and dvd of this movie since it was first released to the public. i was in college when Mr. Lucas did the upgrades to the first three.

I have mixed feelings about this new one coming out. I love that all the originals are back, but not sure if i will like it. wasn't too fond of the newer ones, except for revenge of the sith, that one was my favorite of them because vader was back.

  19. starting back with M...
Monsters University has grown on me - i now like it almost as much as the first one =)
Nightmare is a wonderful story - fun and creepy and advernturous - yay Jack!
PIRATES! One of the best trilogies ever! (we won't get into the 4th one)
Tangled is also a newer fave, in a house full of boys, we didn't even watch frozen (i had to buy it and watch it by myself!)
Star Wars - how will it turn out? i can't wait to see!

  21. Half expected Shark tales, but star wars is also a good choice.

  22. I screamed when I saw the latest trailer. The last 2 seconds were awesome. I can't wait. I wouldn't say I'm a HUGE Star Wars nut, but my dog's registered name is Zente's Jedi Mind Trick. I show him (badly) and his name is always printed in the show catalog. If I got a point every time someone said "Great name!" my dog would be a champion. But for now he's just a pointless dog with a great name.

  23. I agree, they should have left it alone. I cannot imagine the old/original stars will be doing much because they are just that, too old for these films anyway.

  24. Just think of the gazillion of dollars for Start Wars marketing. I can't wait to get my wookie PJs!

  25. Ah-ha! I was thinking, "Disney didn't make Star Wars" but now I see where you were going.

  26. I am stupidly excited about this. Star Wars was (is) my nerd home base, the point from where all other nerdiness started. I kind of gave up on following the universe after the prequel trilogy, but if this one ends up good, I'll be so all over it again :)

  27. I am cautiously optimistic. I get super excited seeing the visuals in the previews, but I don't want to set myself (or my expectations) too high. Looks like it will be a very interesting Christmas either way.

As a Star Wars fan, this is on my bucket list! Looks like I'll need to try and get there sooner rather than later.

  28. I am curious, but cautious about the new movie. Will probably wait until I hear the opinions of friends before I try it out. Or wait until I can stream it at home. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  29. I'm looking forward to this. The trailers so far has excited me. But, I am cautious. I have no idea if they will do it justice or not. I certainly hope so.
