So what can we say about Disney? Holds a special place in some of our hearts, for the villains or heroes and or the beautiful look. I hope to share a little bit of everything in the days coming, maybe things you forgot about, maybe not and being part of the Co-hosting for A to Z Challenge we all remember Tina... a dear friend and sweet lady.

Jessica Rabbit is Roger's human Toon wife in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Jessica is one of the most famous sex symbols on the animated screen. Inspirations include actresses Veronica Lake, Rita Hayworth, and Lauren Bacall. She claims to Eddie Valiant, "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way," which has become a popular quote. Writer Gary K. Wolf had based Jessica primarily on the cartoon character Red from Tex Avery's Red Hot Riding Hood.
In 2008, Jessica Rabbit was selected by Empire Magazine as one of The 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time. In March, 2009, a UK newspaper voted Jessica Rabbit the sexiest cartoon character of all time, with Betty Boop in second place and the Cadbury's Caramel Bunny in third.

ReplyDeleteJessica is such a great character - I bought the blu-ray of Roger Rabbit just recently and really enjoyed rewatching the whole film. She's so sultry and handy with a frying pan ;)

Who framed Roger Rabbit was a cool movie. Thanks for sharing the clip.
ReplyDeleteJessica is, of course, the height of cartoon sexiness but I've honestly never heard of Cadbury's Caramel Bunny. I suddenly find myself curious (and hungry).
ReplyDeleteSuch an odd film. Recently saw part of it again and realized just how odd the mix was.
ReplyDeleteRoger Rabbit is one of my favorite movies of all time. The seamless integration of "real" and cartoon characters blew my mind when I saw it. Now I can't wait until my granddaughter is old enough to watch it and appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI only watched this once and I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I should try again.
ReplyDeleteShe sure is a sexy animated character.
ReplyDeleteall things DISNEY! i am soooo excited about your theme and all these awesome extra pictures and info about my favorite american institution - Walt Disney!
ReplyDeletethe demure picture of beauty, the smirk of the Dash, Frozen's instant epic fame, geoffrey rush's barbosa, and my all time fave - the Incredibles!
can't wait to see the rest!
Jessica deserves her place, I think. Betty is more cutesy though, which I guess is why she's 2nd.
ReplyDeletePoor Betty Boop. She is too much a creature of her time period for her to beat Jessica Rabbit ... for now. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I remember Jessica!
ReplyDeletePrecious Monsters
Jessica is an inspiration and the hottest cartoon character of all time - at least, judging by Roger's ears when she enters the scene.
ReplyDeleteI went and saw that in the theater with my sister.
ReplyDeleteProbably the sexiest cartoon ever drawn.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have picked any other cartoon character for J!!! This was such a cute/fun movie. Lisa, co-host AtoZ 2015, @ http://www.lisabuiecollard.com
ReplyDeleteShe was scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteThe hair to the side-Lke, The Sass-Bacall-The sexy way she moves and red hair-Hayworth-She is a looker and is bad cos she is in to bestiality:)
ReplyDeleteI never saw Roger Rabbit but want to now. I love to see how the actors interact with the cartoon characters and I wonder how hard that has to be when they're playing their roles. That Jessica is one sexy cartoon! Love how she moves and she's oh so flirty! Great clip, Jeremy.

Ahhh Jessica. Impossibly sexy. Love the film.
ReplyDeleteJessican is a wonderful character, you have done justice with your writing and pictures,
ReplyDeleteWonderful post.
Remember when Disney was allowed to be this sexy?... :D :D

Years since I saw that film and had forgotten that scene.
ReplyDeleteOh man...I remember this from my childhood! Jessica Rabbit was much hotter than any animated cartoon character should ever be. Disney has never been that bold since...and while that does suck in a way it's almost a good thing that they only did this once. Adds to the legend, you know?
ReplyDeleteAlone With My Thoughts
Loved Jessica Rabbit and loved the movie--thanks for the reminder. I'm going to have to watch this one again soon.
ReplyDeleteWho could forget Jessica Rabbit!

I guess its okay to be married to a cartoon rabbit when you're a cartoon woman?

That movie happened to come out not too long before I visited Orlando Florida so when we were at the park there had some of the sets from the movie you could play around in- the warehouse where they have their final battle, you could slide under a stem roller and pretend to be crushed, not to mention the ton of bricks suspended above in rope netting. I came back from that trip with so many Roger Rabbit souvenirs I can't even remember them all. In short, a staple of my childhood.
