Being Retro: February 2013

Welcome March!

It's my last day... I am hitting the pavement looking for that job that will put money in my pocket and food on the table. With recent life altering things I need to get back on track, make those things... good things happen, so here I go. At this point I will be a greeter at Walmart, not that there is anything wrong with that... not at all, it's just not a good use of what talents I think I have.

Any advice? Any thoughts?

Why Comic Con?

Every year I ask myself why do people go to the comic cons that come to their town, you get to meet some great people... maybe see a few famous people or the crazy costumes... What is the coolest thing you have encountered at a convention, that you walk away from it and said "Damn that was Awesome"?

Half this stuff is before walking in the main door. So this is what is coming up in "CHICAGO"... who would you like to meet in this group for 2013?

I have a great interview with "Rod Abernethy" composer who has a wonderful amount of video game scores (RAGE, DEAD SPACE, ALPHA PROTOCOL, TERA, EAT LEAD, WHEELMAN, DEAD HEAD FRED, THE HOBBIT and RISE OF THE KASAI) and now has branched out to his own release "The Upward Turn" on Lakeshore Records. Who's a Bad Robot?

So the discussion continues about J. J. Abrams doing the directing of the new "Star Wars" film, we talk about it because he is the director of Star Trek [2009] and soon Star Trek: Into The Darkness [2013]. Clashing of titles is all I see, for me I felt his direction of Star Trek's look and feel was great. I know I wanted to see that film twice and people trust me... I know I didn't want to see the Prequels twice. Not that I didn't enjoy them, not it at all... it just I saw them, done... period.

I think I am equally a fan of both sets of films... one has great visuals, story and characters... and the other has Light-sabers. I heard it once called "Life-Sabers"... smack and I don't very often.

Though I kid you... I am a fan of both for as long as I can remember! So what are your thoughts... Jedi, Star Fleet or Sith?

Not Sure Who This Is?

I know that many of you come here to read my updated about "THE WALKING DEAD" Season III and sadly I have not watched any... any episodes. Sure I know what is going on with the show, sure I care... but alas I just have not got the time.

In my defense I am human still... I do look around every corner for the walkers. So what you all watching this season, what is your show and can you ever forgive me?

I am taking baby steps, I seem to get to the point of switching and I have only heard good things about switching to use it for groups and my blogs.

Big conversation as of late is who is going to direct the new Star Wars films and the big concern that Star Trek will not play good together... I say who cares, it is setting up for the future... a new group of fans.

So Much Going On... I Forgot About This...

So the great week I am having it is turning out to be interesting, I found out some news that I cannot wait to share. It's been a grand jump for the "A TO Z CHALLENGE"... did you see how many people signed up in like 24 hours of it opening?

So I had been asked by a few people about my t-shirt art/design to the right, you know the one with the beautiful young lady in the photo. Some wanted to know if she was a provided model or did I know Stephanie, well truth is she is a friend... and I am glad to know her, she is going places. Such a talented lady, this photo was taken by me on my official photographer "Stephen Scott" shoot [you should like his page]... I just took a few shots along the way.

So what are you all doing this weekend, I think there is a big game coming up... I have no idea. I am a guy who knows Star Trek, Soundtracks and other Nerdly things and I am damn proud of it. We all are good at many things, I just choose the odd things.
