SOUNDTRACKS/SCORES, FILMS, BOOKS AND MORE!

Welcome March!

It's my last day... I am hitting the pavement looking for that job that will put money in my pocket and food on the table. With recent life altering things I need to get back on track, make those things... good things happen, so here I go. At this point I will be a greeter at Walmart, not that there is anything wrong with that... not at all, it's just not a good use of what talents I think I have.

Any advice? Any thoughts?

  1. God's going to open a door for you, Jeremy! Even if you do have to do something unrelated to your talents for a while, it will be all right.

  2. Good for you J! It's not easy to take a job that doesn't utilize your talents to their fullest, but I think most of us have had to do that from time to time. Reminds of a blog I need to write...got fired from my gymnastics teaching job (I'd taken a leave of absence to student teach) because they lost so many students when I left. Apparently I was a favorite...so wouldn't it make sense to fire me? I thought so too. So I did Wendy's for the summer. That I already have a post about called "Wendy's Woe's" in case you find yourself with nothing to do...LMAO. Take care my dear friend.

  3. I think most of us have had to work where our talents aren't used but we all need to eat. Do what you need to do and other doors will open for you. *pumps fist in air!*

  4. just don't go zombie on the Walmart customers, Zombie Master :) It is such a crises all around the world that none of us can choose jobs these days. I'm a professor and a book translator but since it is a crises I also do catering for money.... the times are just horrible....

  5. Sometimes we get what we need and not what we want. I'm sure opportunities are coming your way, you just have to be patient and look for them.

I worked for Sam's Club for many years and, while it wasn't the best use of my talents, it did give me a lot of valuable work experience to go onto bigger and better jobs.

Best of luck in the job market.

  6. Jeremy you do whatever you have to do to put food on the table and keep the roof over your head. Do they best job you can and you'll find yourself moving up soon enough. Keep following your passion though and you'll keep the joy. You might even want to try eLance.com which looks for freelance graphic designers. It's worth a shot.

  8. Hi Jeremy .. sounds like you're on the right track - being out there and prepared to do anything ... quite a few people have started at the bottom of the bottom and worked their way through - I'm sure that will happen to you ... even referrals for techie skills etc .. Good Luck though ..

Those opportunities will turn up ...

Your art work is just great and I know Tina is delighted with 'our badge' - thank you .. I just need to work out how to get it onto the blog .. I will!

Cheers and all the very best - Hilary
