No Particular Order...and these are ones that pull my heart strings, yes this ZOMBIE, has a heart!
-Jeremy [Retro-Zombie]
A very soppy heart!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Live! I forgot about them. Great list.
ReplyDeleteNice song list! You picked some favourite's of mine in there. NIN, Metallica, Live, Queen...I think the Queen song you picked is my favourite song of theirs. He wrote it at such a painful point in his life, and I can hear his pain in that song.
ReplyDeleteLightening crashes isn't really sad to me though. I find it empowering. I love how it builds from sorrow into hope. At least that's how I see it. :)
U2, Peter Gabriel, and PInk Floyd. Very nice picks. Thanks for stopping by my blog, and no, I don't know the inspiration for the Acky, Breaky, Heart. But now, I'm curious.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic list of songs especially Queen's 'The Show Must Go On' which then made me think about 'Who Wants To Live Forever'.
ReplyDeleteThe lists could go on and on...
Thanks for sharing this great list though.
Oh my goodness, I can't believe I forgot Without You by Motley Crue! Love that song...great lost.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I didn't know many of these songs by title when I saw them here, but thanks for this great list.
ReplyDeleteCoupled with the video and that Metallica song is devastating. And that Live song will always make me think of the Oklahoma bombing.
ReplyDeleteLoves: U2, Peter Gabriel, NIN, Metallica, Live.
ReplyDeleteAnd double loves for one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs ever.
Can't believe I forgot about Face Off, one of my fave movies. That scene with Somewhere Over The Rainbow playing is pretty cool. Not a huge U2 fan but that song is pretty awesome. Great selection :)
ReplyDeleteoooh you have some great choices here! LOVE With or Without You!
ReplyDeleteSome interesting picks. I would have never thought a Motley Crue song would show up, but then again I don't know much of their music.

oooh! WITH OR WITHOUT YOU is a favorite on mine!
ReplyDeletehave you ever heard the version by kurt nilsen, askil holm, alejandro fuentes, and espen lind? GORGEOUS! (those names may or may not be spelled atrociously incorrectly)
Great song choices. :) And Queen... I juz watched the bio of his last concert.
ReplyDeleteEven though U2 is probably the only one I can relate to, you've got some interesting choices. A lot of them new to me.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I know them all but the ones I do, I really like!
ReplyDeleteExcellent list! Some of these are about to be added to my rotation. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteUmm, totally impressed with your choices. Peter Gabriel is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved how Bono starts soft and ends up defying the wind by shouting it out there in this song. Great one!
ReplyDeleteI love Lightning Crashes.

Oh, great list! You and I have a lot of overlap on our music taste--I was definitely a metal head when younger, so those choices bring back memories. NIN and Metalica can definitely carry some darkness!
ReplyDeleteThe only song I knew here was Pink Floyd's "Goodbye Blue Sky". However, I will add that this song comes from what I have often said is "the most depressing album ever recorded". So, obviously... good choice!

'Loyal American Underground'
I didn't have room for any U2 songs. Might've gone with Pride though if I did.
ReplyDeleteLove Pink Floyd. Always have, always will.
You picked my favorite U2 song!!! The lyrics and music has always moved me!
ReplyDeleteNIN and Pink Floyd are also awesome choices!!
These are all sad songs. I don;t know if I can make it through the blogfest. I think I need a hug.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big mainstream music fan, so I didn't know many of the songs listed but they're all wonderful choices. I love the arrangement and the sounds of all of them.

Visions of Other Worlds
Don't know any of these, which cements the fact that I am indeed a dinosaur. Like the zombie peeps at bottom left. Cool stuff!
ReplyDeleteLightening crashes!! How did I forget that one?
ReplyDeleteGreat list, love them all
Memorise of singing with or without you at an open air concert with thousands of other fans on the 360 tour !

Queen and U2 - very good call! All very good songs but they don't make me sob like a baby like Queen and U2 :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat choices!! With or Without You is one of my faves too! :)
ReplyDeleteGood ones man. I agree with everyone else that U2 was a great choice. Peter Gabriel's "Blood of Eden" with Sinead O'Connor is in my Amazon Cloud sad song playlist
ReplyDeleteYou picked a lot of great songs. Anything by Queen makes me sad. I still miss Freddie. Sniff.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Rob.
I love U2. And the movie soundtrack you posted was very dramatic. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
ReplyDeleteI'm also doing A to Z!
How could I have forgotten a Queen song from "Innuendo?"
ReplyDeleteSimilar to Warren Zevon's "The Wind," an album written with the knowledge that time on this earth was short.
A lot of great choices-"Lightning Crashes"...classic!
Larry
How did I forget about Queen? but then I do think that I was born to love you is a sad song. Great list.
ReplyDeleteAmazing choices! I can't believe I forgot U2!
ReplyDeleteOne by Metallica is one of my favorites. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteI had to look for Alex's comment because as I was perusing your list, I thought, "Oh, these are right up his alley!" Great list. With or Without You by U2 - excellent choice.
