I went to a talk about historical costumes from the turn of the century to the sixties last Friday and the lady doing it was saying how the corset was often the most expensive part of the whole outfit. There was also quite a bit about knickers, but I won't go into that ;)

Isn't it funny how the popularity of some garments ebb and flow through history. Corsets are alive and well these days (or so I'm told). The difference lies in the purpose for the garment. Thanks for another engaging post. @sheilamgood at Cow Pasture Chronicles
