Where is the sequel... will it ever happen?

    1. Yeah there is - Ghostbusters II.

Not as good as the first one but not bad

  2. Yeah, the second one came out in 1989. The IMDB does list a third, but there are no details.

  3. I have the first Ghostbusters in my DVD collection. I don't know, but back then there was a 'feel good' vibe from films of the 80s that I love. Or maybe it's just nostalgia talking? But films like 'Ghostbusters', 'The Goonies', 'E.T.', etc... well, I suppose, had a certain 'innocence' about them?

Maybe I'm wrong. But today, unless it's a CGI animated flick, everything is sex, violence and dumbed down humour taken to the extreme - oh, and remake-after-remake *yawn*

  4. Ghostbusters is one of my favorite movies. Ramis, Akroyd, and Ramis are a great team in this. The sequels not so much.

  6. The first was great. The second was good ("Do! Ray! Egon!"), but Ghostbusters III has been in development hell for years. Bill Murray's the main hold-out. Maybe someday. Great post Jeremy.

  7. I would love to see Ghostbusters III! I had piano lessons when the first movie came out, and I would play the creepy intro music all the time. Needless to say that was all I could play.

  8. Two thumbs up to Ghostbusters. The thing about sequels is the audience expects something even more original and fresh than #1 delivered. I've seldom, if ever, seen it happen.

  9. Loved that movie. Made the kids watch it. They loved it, too. What's not to love? "I got slimed!"
